Route 5 Days to the Desert (Paris Dakar) from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech-High Atlas – Telouet – Ounila Valley – Ait ben haddou – Ouarzazate

Departure in the morning by the High Atlas the port of Tizi NÃ Tichka 2260 m of altitude passing by the kasbah of Télouet (visit to the kasbah of the Pacha Glaoui), lunch on the site. Then we leave by the old caravan road to arrive to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou through the Ounila Valley dotted with Berber villages. Continue to Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdez – Draa Valley – Tazarine – Mharech Oasis (Dakar trail)

Departure in the morning from Ouarzazate, South Direction towards Agdez passing through the mountains of the anti Atlas port of Tizi-n-Tinififft (1660 meters of altitude) we arrive at the largest Valley in Morocco (Draa Valley) within the valley if you find the Kasbah by Alkaid Ali in Tamnougale. (visit to the Kasbah). we leave towards the N’kob, Tarazine and Alnif people, we will take the track 90 km that crosses lost villages until we reach the Mharech Oasis. Many of these sections are those that are covered during the Dakar Rally. We will end the day sleeping in a Riad in the middle of nowhere.

Day 3: Mharech – Oasis Ramlia – Ouzina – Merzouga

Departure in the morning from the Foum Mharech to Merzouga along the Dakar Rally track we will cross more lost villages in the Desert, we will cross Ouadis (dry channels), oasis and the Ouzina dunes. Following the route we will visit the well-known town of Khamlia, a descendant of the slaves who arrived from Africa, and you can enjoy its amazing folk music. From Khamlia we will take the road in the direction of Erg Chebbi, the highest dunes of Morocco, in the afternoon we will climb in Dromedaries, 1h30 walking to reach the camp of Jaimas located in the middle of nowhere, we stop in the middle of the great dunes of Erg Chebbi to attend the sunset, and we will spend the night in Jaima in the desert. Night and dinner the Jaimas.

Day 4: Merzourga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After seeing the amazing sunrise in the desert, return to Dromedario to the lodge. for breakfast and shower, we will go to Rissani, the origin of the Alauí dynasty and the first imperial city of Morocco. We will take the road towards Erfoud, rich in black stone and marine fossils (view of one of the fossil factories) and we will arrive at the Palmeral de Tafilalet. We will visit the Toudra Gorges. and we will arrive at the Dades Valley, dinner and hotel accommodation.

Day 5: December: Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura – Marrakech

(Return to Marrakech) Departure in the morning from the Dades Valley by the route of the “Thousand Kasbahs”, we will pass through the amazing Valley of Roses and we will reach the palm grove of Skoura, where the kasbah of the Amreydil area is located. From this point we will start the way back to Marrakech and eat along the way, we cross the High Atlas mountains again, in the afternoon we arrive in Marrakech, end of the route.
